Mission in Church recently completed a powerful short-term mission trip to the Himalayan region of Sindhupalchok.
This remote village is challenging to access, requiring a 4-hour bus ride from Kathmandu to Melamchi, followed by a 9
-hour uphill walk due to landslides that have destroyed the road. These landslides were caused by past earthquakes and monsoon rains, making the journey difficult—but deeply worthwhile.
For the past six years, we’ve been partnering with Brother Man Badur Gole, discipling 27 young believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. This trip was a special time to encourage them, share in Holy Communion, and continue the work God has started.
During this mission trip:
8 more people received Jesus Christ as their Savior.
9 believers are now ready to take water baptism.
The local community is hungry for the Word of God and the love of Christ.
We ask for your continued prayers for these new believers, that they may grow in their spiritual walk and develop a strong relationship with the Lord. The need for local pastors and spiritual leaders is great—please pray with us that God will raise up leaders to care for and disciple these souls.
The people in this area are still recovering from the devastation of the earthquakes, which claimed 45 lives and destroyed every home. Most families are still living in temporary shelters, and they need hope, encouragement, and the love of Jesus Christ.
