Sponsor an orphan child in Nepal

Mission in Church invites you to sponsor a child in the orphanage. By doing so you will help us care for and make a better future for orphans. We understand that times can be uncertain financially, and sometimes keeping your commitments can be difficult so you may prefer to make a contribution to our general operating fund or help in other ways. however if you can sponsor a child it will make a big difference. Nepal is home to more orphans, poor and street children than most countries as a result of wide spread poverty and high unemployment. Another huge influence on the children of Nepal was the recent Nepali Civil War (1996-2006) in which it is estimated 15,000 people were killed and 150,000 were internally displaced, leaving government social programs in tatters. Education is a difficult task for most families, with half the population living on 1$ US per day, because of this many children have to go to work at a very young age and often in very undesirable working environment.

The government is unable to provide any type of welfare plan for disadvantaged families and child abandonment is a very common occurrence in poor communities, where the parents can barely provide for themselves. Other factors effecting Nepal’s high number of orphans include domestic violence and social discrimination. Mission in Church partners with a number of other orphanages to broaden the support network for these abandoned children, and to help as many as possible. We need your prayers and financial help. Your small contribution will be a great help to these children.
