Message from Our Founder

I am Debilal (David) Prasain, founder of Mission in Church.

Although I was raised in a Christian family, I struggled in my early years to fully trust in Jesus. I battled with chronic illness for a long time, and despite many treatments and prayers, I was not healed. My faith was tested in those difficult moments.

After completing high school, I enrolled in a Bachelor of Theology program andPastor David Prasain testimony studied the Word of God for three years. Upon graduation, I began serving in various churches across Kathmandu, Nepal. It was during this time, while attending a leadership conference, that my life changed forever.

I suffered a severe asthma attack that left me unconscious. In those critical moments, I thought, “This is the day I die.” But then, I remembered Matthew 20:29–34, where Jesus heals two blind men. I cried out to the Lord, asking Him to heal me, and I made a promise: If You heal me, I will serve You all the days of my life.

At that moment, something miraculous happened—I began to breathe again, coughing out the sickness and feeling completely renewed. Since that day, I have never suffered from asthma again. I believe Jesus healed me completely. I was filled with the Holy Spirit, and my life was transformed.

The Birth of Mission in Church

God gave me a deep burden for children in need. I began by caring for three children, sharing the love of Jesus and meeting their basic needs. As I continued to share the Gospel, more people began to gather and attend church.

On February 14, 2005, I officially established Himalayan Hope Church—not to celebrate earthly love, but to reflect the eternal love of Christ that never fails. Since then, the church has grown spiritually and geographically, reaching unreached places with the Gospel.

At the same time, I launched our children’s ministry, believing God had called me to work with orphans and children from broken or vulnerable backgrounds.

Our Vision for Nepal

Over the years, we have faced many challenges, but by God’s grace, we have continued to grow. My vision is to see the hearts of the Nepali people transformed by the love and truth of Jesus Christ through Mission in Church.

Please pray for our ministry. With your prayers and God’s guidance, we hope to reach many more with the life-saving message of Jesus.

“To God be all the glory—for healing, calling, and using me for His Kingdom.”

In Christ,
Pastor David Prasain
